Join us each month as we interview and feature members of the ASA Community! This month, we’re shining the spotlight on ASA Wingman Captain Adrian Medina.
What is your Day Job?
I’m a dentist.
What drew you to ASA? When did you start?
I found out about ASA while doing some local races in Baltimore—the Charles Street 12 and the Baltimore Running Festival. I participated in RunFest and joined ASA soon afterwards. My first race with ASA was the Sole of the City 10K in 2018. I try to do most of my races now with ASA. It’s always more fun running with a Wingman Team!
What do you love most about ASA?
The Athletes! They are definitely inspiring. It’s amazing hearing all of the cheers for the athletes during races.
Tell us more about the people you have met through ASA.
ASA is a great community. It’s a family. Everyone is so welcoming. The athletes and families are always so appreciative.
What is your favorite part of a group run?
Just getting to spend time with everyone—training with the athletes, wingmen, captains, parents, friends—all of the ASA family!
What is your favorite part of race day?
Hearing the crowds cheering for the athletes, and crossing the finish line together as a team.
What is your best ASA story to date?
At the Sneaks Come Out at Night Relay, the weather started out nice and sunny. During the second leg of the relay, it began pouring rain. It was probably the most rain ASA has ever run in! Even though the race was cut short, everyone still had a lot of fun (in the rain)!
