ASA Continues Expansion to 3 New Counties, Announces New Virginia Area RunFest, & Promotes Conor Joyce to Director of Programming.
Cockeysville, MD: In the past two years, ASA has grown by expanding to 3 new Counties, experienced its most attended RunFest ever, and has announced its first ever Virginia area RunFest on Sunday, September 22nd 2024 in Reston, VA.
In 2023, ASA announced that it would be opening Communities in East Baltimore County, MD and Fairfax County, VA. With this growth came the opportunity to serve the 20 new Athletes that wanted to join, the largest number of new Athletes to join the Wingman Program in ASA’s history. During the 2023 racing season, ASA hosted its annual Hunt Valley RunFest, which had the largest group in attendance since the organization began the running event, and ASA raised over $67,000 in support of The Wingman Program.
This year, ASA is opening a Prince George’s County Community, and has announced a Virginia area RunFest in September of 2024 along with its annual Hunt Valley, Maryland RunFest which will be April 20th, 2024. As ASA continues to grow and expand in the DMV, there was a need for expansion of ASA’s staff team. We are proud to promote Conor Joyce to the position of Director of Programming. Conor has served ASA as the Community Manager for the last 3 years focusing on providing an outstanding Wingman Program for all of the participants, organizing Group Run schedules, and finding races for ASA to participate in. Now he will be expanding his focus to oversee another Community Manager to help him run all 12 ASA Communities, serve the 91 Athletes, their families and the 400 volunteers who are a part of the program, and open new ASA Communities in the DMV.
