ASA SPOTLIGHT: AMBER HAYDEN

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

Join us each month as we interview and feature members of the ASA Community! This month, we're shining the spotlight on ASA Athlete Amber Hayden!

Tell us a little more about yourself. What would you like readers to know?

My name is Amber, and I am 27 years old. I love music, dancing, swimming, and spending time with my friends, and I am in a community based program with the ARC of Central Chesapeake. I hope to volunteer or get a job some day.

What drew you to ASA? When did you start?

I recently moved into my own residential home with my friend Sean McDonough whom I have known since I was in first grade. Sean and his mom, Karen, are the ones who introduced me and my Aunt Dawnie to ASA and all of the wonderful people. We just started this year.

What do you love most about ASA?

What I love most about ASA is running in the joggers, being a part of the team, and hanging out and having fun with friends I have known for a long time like Sean, Corey, and Nick.

Tell us more about the people you have met through ASA.

I have loved being able to meet new friends like Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Mary, Ms. Erin, Mr. Pablo, Mr. Conor, &  Ms. Tina. I love to make my Captains and Wingmen work and laugh, plus they always play great music!

What is your favorite part of race day?

My favorite part of race day is getting together with all of the people and having a good time!

What is your best ASA story to date?

My favorite ASA race was my very first race where I got to meet YOJO. He sat on my lap and it was so funny! I laughed so hard, and I cannot wait to see him again. Meeting the Ravens players and having them signing my shoes was awesome, as well.
